Frequently Asked Questions

Sno-Isle Tech, located near Paine Field in Everett, is a cooperative effort of 14 local school districts. The purpose of each program is to provide you with skills that will prepare you for entry-level jobs after graduation from high school or for related post high school education or training.

All occupations are organized into five broad clusters or “pathways” based on tasks that are performed on the job. These pathways include Information Technology, Business Marketing & Management, Human Services, Science & Health, and Trade & Industry. There are currently 19 programs offered within the five pathways.

Application to Sno-Isle is made in the spring of each year for entrance into fall classes. Application forms are available in high school counseling offices. Personal interviews of students submitting applications will be conducted at Sno-Isle. Watch the video below to learn more about our interview process.

		Students interested in attending the Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center should have a good attendance record at their sending high school and should give careful consideration to their degree of interest in making a commitment to a particular program. This is especially important because the programs are one or two years in length.
There are two sessions each day at Sno-Isle. The first session is from 8:00 to 10:30 each morning, and the students then return to their sending high schools to attend their regular afternoon classes. The second session is from 11:10 to 1:40 each afternoon with students attending their regular classes at the sending high school in the morning. Transportation to Sno-Isle is provided by the sending school district.
		Sno-Isle students complete graduation requirements at their sending high school. Students earn 1.5 credits each semester at Sno-Isle Tech. Many Sno-Isle Tech programs offer academic equivalency Credit opportunities. Students may receive more information on equivalency Credit opportunities from their sending school counselor.
Sno-Isle has articulation agreements with Everett Community College, Edmonds Community College, Shoreline Community College, Lake Washington Technical College, and other community colleges in the area. Through these agreements, students successfully completing selected Sno-Isle Tech programs may receive Tech Prep credit (college credit). Anyone planning to receive college credit for a Sno-Isle course must check with the Sno-Isle instructor.

What is Sno-Isle Tech?

A public school that prepares high school students to be successful in a high-tech work force and/or go on to further education and training.

How do students apply for admission?

Get an application from your high school counselor or directly from Sno-Isle.
Complete the application and attach a copy of your most recent high school transcript.
Give the completed application to your high school counselor who will send it to Sno-Isle.
An interview will be scheduled with the program instructor.
Contact your sending school counselor or Sno-Isle Tech for more details.

Who is eligible to attend Sno-Isle?

Juniors and Seniors from member districts in Snohomish, and Island counties.
Anyone age 16 to 20 who has not received a high school diploma.
Anyone age 16 to 20 who has earned his/her GED.
Students who know what type of technical training they want.

What is the cost to attend Sno-Isle?

There is no cost for students of member districts.
Some programs have a lab fee or require specialized clothing.
The Cosmetology 12 program has additional fees beyond what is paid by Sno-Isle.

When do students attend class?

The classes are part of the regular school calendar and school day.
Students either attend a morning or afternoon class.
Morning class is in session from 7:55am to 10:25am.
Afternoon class is in session from 11:10am to 1:40pm.

What about grades and credit?

Grades will be assigned by the instructor and credit will be given by the sending high school.

Where is Sno-Isle located and how do students get there?

Students are provided roundtrip transportation by their school district.
Sno-Isle is located at 9001 Airport Road in Everett, WA across from Paine Field and just south of the Everett Boeing Plant.

What is the Attendance Policy at Sno-Isle TECH?

Students are expected to be in class each day that their sending school is in session and transportation to Sno-Isle Tech is provided by the sending school district.
If you drive to Sno-Isle you should arrive at 7:55 AM for the AM Session and you may leave when your district’s bus leaves. For the PM Session, you should arrive no later than your district bus and you may leave at 1:40 PM.

What is the Code of Conduct for Students Attending?

Students attending Sno-Isle Tech are a dedicated group of individuals interested in being here. In the event a student does not follow published classroom behavior expectations, progressive discipline will be implemented.
